This page tries to answer the question what chemotherapy can mean in terms of your blood quality.

When I was faced with the option to undergo chemotherapy I knew that it was something about losing hair, getting mouth ulcers, feeling sick, nausea or other quite unpleasant side effects.
I quickly learned that there are some blood cells (besides the normal tumor markers like AFP or beta HCG) that indicate whether the cytotoxica work.

In my case these indicators were my white blood cells and my platelets. Thus you can view information about the development of these two, either:

• an overview of the white blood cells in the course of the five chemo-cycles,
• or the same for platelets:the cycles.
