"Live as if you are going to die tomorrow. Garden
as if you are going to live forever." - Rudyard Kipling
We are in the process of redesigning the small
garden behind our urban terraced house. It's a rectangular
area of around 6x16 meters in size, facing north-east.
Originally used by a brickyard has it been cultivated
and changed by the two former owners of the house. The last
ones dumped a lot of debris and rubbish in the
most northern corners and - by covering it with gravel - created
a multi-level garden design. Obviously being addicted to the
colour green and its most aggressive equivalent in nature:
bamboo, they had created a modernly looking, slightly
formal garden over the last years.

We soon decided to get rid of the bamboo and
to use this opportunity to once and for all clean the area
of the remains of the modifications of the house (during the
last reconstruction period in the late 90s), and check and
improve the quality of the soil.
