Family: Marcus Döring
Hi, I am Marcus!
In a hurry? You might want to check out the page about my current health status, my cancer diary or the general section about testicular cancer.
My full name indeed is Marcus Döring and, if I remember correctly, I was born October 9, 1969.
I am married to my beloved and beautiful wife Andrea and father of our twins, Clara and Moritz [TODO:link].
I live in Neuss in the western part of Germany, a city near my home town Düsseldorf; the latter being the capital of North-Rhine Westfalia. I have two parents, one male (dad) and one female (mum), no sisters and certainly no brothers.
I am not earning money at the moment, but instead enjoying the life of a care taker for the twins. Normally and from September 2009 onwards, I do work as an IT systems consultant with the biggest employer in Düsseldorf, which is as a matter of fact a job I quite like.
I generally try to be nice to everyone, although I do tend to get annoyed with people who can't use apostrophes or more importantly capital letters in German properly. Sometimes you will find me beating these people violently about the head with a blunt instrument.
A few things I like - although not necessarily in that order:
- travelling, especially to Britain and Ireland,
- fairy tales,
- tennis and soccer,
- comparative theology,
- computer adventure games,
- new age music,
- rain, in any form, from drizzle to thunder storms,
- Mozart's requiem,
- illustration of old, especially medieval religious books,
- deciduous trees,
- the oeuvre of Salvador Dali.
A few things I dislike:
- sports teams from Cologne,
- smoking people at non-smoking places,
- spiders in the bathroom, especially bird spiders,
- meeting a sloshed crowd at the local airport at 05:30 in the morning, departing for holidays to Spanish island Mallorca,
- being forced to listen to sports anchorman Heribert Fassbender.
